Eva
Bovenzi is an artist living and working in San Francisco, California.
Born in Rochester, New York, she received a B.A. in English Literature
from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, graduating cum laude,
Phi Beta Kappa. Her M.F.A. is from the California College of the Arts
in Oakland, California.
She
has exhibited her work extensively in museums and galleries, including the International biennial of Painting in Cuenca, Ecuador, the Phoenix Museum of Art, the Oakland Museum, and Villa Montalvo in
Saratoga, CA. Her art is included in both public and private collections,
among them the Oakland Museum in Oakland, CA; the Delfina Studio Trust in
London, England; the Djerassi Foundation in Woodside, CA; and the Syntex
Corporation and Packard Foundation in Palo Alto, California.
She has received residency grants from the Djerassi Foundation and the Ucross
Foundation in the United States, and Casa Manilva and Fundacion Valparaiso in
Spain. Her work has been reviewed or included in articles in Artweek, Zyzzyva,
the San Francisco Chronicle, the Bay Guardian, the Arizona Republic and Sunset
magazine. She is represented by Toomey and Tourell Fine Arts in San Francisco, California.
